Artios Pharma is currently recruiting a Senior Scientist, 12 month fixed term contract, to join the Artios Bioinformatics team. This is an excellent opportunity to become a part of a world class research team in a dynamic, expanding biotech company based south of Cambridge, UK. Artios is focused on identifying and developing cancer treatments by exploiting novel targets within the DNA damage response (DDR), a scientific area of high expectation following the success of PARP inhibitors in the clinic. The company is actively working on an exciting portfolio of unique DNA repair projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality analyses of ‘omics datasets generated from patients recruited into Artios clinical trials and translational studies.
- Support development and refinement of strategies for data management, analysis, integration and visualisation.
- Develop and implement bioinformatics analysis pipelines and data infrastructure as required. Identify, explore and implement technologies from open source platforms or vendors.
- Liaise with the Clinical team to help guide generation of patient biomolecular data and communicate key findings and results.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in the oncology informatics space. Identify, test and implement novel methods/tools and datasets.
Skills and Experience
- Post-graduate degree in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology and experience in industrial or clinical settings.
- Statistical programming, data manipulation, analysis, visualisation and reporting using R/Bioconductor or Python. Comfortable working in command-line environments.
- Significant experience of working with WES/WGS and RNA-Seq data in oncology, including sequencing data QC, alignment, variant calling and annotation, CNV analysis, calling fusions and structural variants
- Experience of working with public cancer ‘omics datasets (e.g. TCGA/ICGC/PCAWG, DepMap)
- Multi-omic data integration and analyses
- Flexible approach to change
- Ability to work independently in an organised and methodical fashion
